1st Beach, La Push Washington

On our way down to Portland, OR we made a stop in La Push at First Beach. The last time I was up there I didn't know where First Beach was, as there are no signs directing you to it (there are signs to Third and Second Beach).

Cape Flattery Trail Pictures

Recently my family and I took a trip up to Northwestern WA, while we were there we decided to hike the Cape Flattery trail (again). It is such a beautiful trail, in a way it reminds me of a enchanted forest. On our way back the lighting throughout the trail was gorgeous, so I of course had to take some shots of it.

Utahs Hogle Zoo

Today my husband and I took our nephew and niece to Utah's Hogle Zoo. While we were there not only did I get some cute shots of the kids, but I also got some neat shots of the animals. My two favorites are the zebra drinking water and the leopard that came RIGHT up to the glass where we were standing. It was so awesome seeing him so CLOSE. Enjoy looking!

Temple Square in Salt Lake City Utah

The flowers at Temple Square in SLC, UT have been out in bloom for a few weeks now. And since all of their tulips are beautiful I decided to take advantage of them.

So tomorrow and Sunday my husband, sis-in-law and I are going to Capitol Reef National Park. I am very excited, we had originally wanted to go to Moab to visit Arches National Park, but all the lodging was booked up. So it will be Capitol Reef this weekend instead! :) I hope to get some great shots of the area. More next week!! :)

Here are the long awaited Photographs I promoised of Capitol Reef National Park! Out of all the hikes we went on I enjoyed the Hickman Bridge trail the most.

Every picture of my PhotoArt, except Tribal Dance, was first taken as a photograph of Christmas lights, with the camera in motion. I then used Photoshop and swirled, moved and distorted the photograph. The photoart Tribal Dance is one of my 2nd Beach photographs, distorted.

These are hand drawn pictures of beloved family pets and a church I saw in an astronomy magazine. The photograph of the church had a beautiful aurora borealis. I love the aurora borealis.

Recently my husband and I decided to take the trail up to Ensign Peak, in Salt Lake City Utah. The sun was out, there was a slight breeze to the air, it was a nice day for a small hike. This is a steep hike, but once you reach the top the views of the Mountains, the Valley and the Great Salt Lake are breathtaking. -Karen

My husband and I recently moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, we have lived near Sandy, Oregon. Since I grew up there, I knew I would miss the area and there were a few places I wanted to photograph before we left. All of these photographs I took except the photograph of Mt. Hood are taken at or near Eagle Fern Park, in Eagle Creek Oregon. The photograph of Mt. Hood was taken near Boring, Oregon. -Karen

Landscape, Carson Washington Snow in December Collection

During December 2007 my husband and I decided to take a drive to Mt. Saint Helens. On the back road to the Mountain, the roads were covered in snow in places. The trees looked like a winter wonderland, some of the snow was blue in color. There was plenty of wildlife that we saw, unfortunately the road ended up being closed to Mt. Saint Helens after a certain point. However here are a few photographs of what we were able to enjoy seeing. -Karen

During May and October 2007 I had the opportunity to hike to the top of Multnomah Falls. It is a very beautiful hike, however if you have a few pounds to loose (like me) it really gives you a good but well worth while work out. Take time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and visit the gift shop for souvenirs. -Karen

In November 2007 my family and I took a trip to Cape Meares, Oregon. It was a cloudy gray day, but the ocean waves hitting the cliffs was enchanting and reminded me a little bit of Jane of Lantern Hill. The trees and the landscape I felt was somewhat haunting. -Karen

October 2007 my husband, best friend and I took a road trip to the Olympic Peninsula. While we were there, we went on a few hikes. One of the hikes we took was at 2nd Beach, La Push. It was a gorgeous hike and a beautiful day. When we got to the beach we had to climb over the sea stacks to get to the water. Our other hike took us to Cape Flattery, it was another gorgeous hike with beautiful scenery. If you ever visit 2nd Beach, be prepared to climb some very steep stairs. Above all else enjoy the beauty of the Olympic Peninsula.

October 2007, I had the opportunity to go crabbing with my father, husband and friend in Netarts Bay, Oregon. It was a nice sunny day, we didn't catch much which is always disappointing. However I got some great shots of the bay and the catch of the day! :)
